New community helps Yeatman Hospital

Money raised by a new community being created in the former walled garden of Sherborne House has been handed over to the Friends of Yeatman Hospital.

Lorraine Kendrick, Sales and Marketing Manager of Redcliffe Homes who have designed these new homes at Sherborne House Gardens around stylish squares, handed over a cheque for just over £866 to Chairman of the Friends, Mike Hatch.

The money was raised at events, including a Dorset cream tea party where existing residents met their neighbours and shared their enthusiasm for the development with those still striving to join them.

Redcliffe Homes, who have over 30 years’ experience of creating desirable homes, doubled the amount raised to celebrate the opening of the their latest showhome which showcases the three-bedroom Frink house type, named after artist Dame Elisabeth Frink, who spent her later years in Sherborne.

Lorraine said: “The Friends do such fantastic work supporting the Yeatman Hospital, which is a real asset to Sherborne. The community at Sherbourne House Gardens is really taking shape in the peaceful setting we have created and within easy walking distance of the town centre.

“We don’t see our role as just putting up buildings. We want to encourage a community feel and raising money for Yeatman Hospital was not only our way of contributing back but was popular with everyone who has moved in as well as our own staff.”
