A new lifeboat to help save lives on River Severn is on its way

Chris Crowley, Contracts Manager at Redcliffe Homes, recently had the opportunity to meet The Department of Transport maritime minister, John Hayes.

In his spare time Chris is the Executive Chairman of SARA, Severn Area Rescue Association, lifeboat search & rescue team and has been involved in writing grant application bids over the last four years, resulting in raising a total of over £400,000 for new equipment for the 6 rescue stations and all the committed crew and support teams.

Mr Hayes recently visited the SARA Sharpness station and was welcomed on-board one of the lifeboats, the purpose of his visit was to announce that the Government would be giving the station £110,000 and some of that cash will go towards a new lifeboat.
