The Gryphon School in Sherborne has been presented with a £500 cheque for their Art Department. It was given by Redcliffe Homes as a thank you for the photography students’ work in documenting the restoration of Sherborne House. The cheque was presented by Gill Morris, Redcliffe Homes’ Sales Advisor at Sherborne House Gardens, to The Gryphon School’s Headteacher, Steve Hillier.
A Level Photography students have visited Sherborne House to take photographs over the last year. Mike Fenton-Wilkinson, Head of Art, Design & Technology said the School is very grateful for the generous gift which will be used to buy cameras for the Photography Department. He added “It has been an amazing opportunity for the students to explore the creative potential of taking photographs of such an incredible property, documenting the restoration process, whilst furthering their technical skills in photography. The students are looking forward to future visits over the coming months, making many more additions to the growing portfolio of imagery as Sherborne House is brought back to life”.
Redcliffe Homes said: “This is an ongoing and very successful collaboration between Redcliffe Homes and the Gryphon School as the A Level Photography students are chronicling the restoration of Sherborne House for us and we have been able to give them unprecedented access to photograph one of Dorset’s most important properties. We are genuinely committed to the communities where we build, so we are very happy that we have been able to help the students and school and congratulate them on giving us so many superb photos as they will form a wonderful archive of the restoration work on Sherborne House.”
