Sherborne homes shortlisted for national design awards

New homes in the heart of Sherborne, constructed in the former walled garden of the Grade I listed 18th century Sherborne House, have been shortlisted for a prestigious national award.

Redcliffe Homes are finalists in the Housebuilder Awards 2014 in the category for the best design of a new home under three storeys high.

The Sherborne House Gardens designs have been shortlisted in the top seven designs of any new homes being built in the country and this exclusive development consists of two, three and four bedroom homes.

The winner will be announced at a glamorous black tie event in London’s Tower Hotel on November 6.

The awards are run by the UK’s best-read housebuilding magazine and are a prestigious annual event, known as ‘The Oscars’ of the housebuilding industry.

Redcliffe Homes managing director Tom O’Connor, says: “The bespoke designs at Sherborne proved very popular with our purchasers especially with those wishing to downsize without having to sacrifice precious living space.

“The design of the scheme required a sensitive, design-led approach to create a scheme that would fit comfortably within the grounds of the Grade I listed building, Sherborne House.

“Redcliffe Homes working with its architects, Boon Brown, the Council’s conservation officers and English Heritage designed a development worthy of its historic setting and this has been achieved with a mixture of 12 different house designs, creating an environment which will provide pleasure and pride to occupants for years to come.

“The reputation of Redcliffe Homes, earned over many years, is synonymous with sensitive design and individuality, underpinned by the highest quality of construction, providing desirable homes in the most sought after locations.”
