Recommend-a-friend brings benefits to both

People living in the idyllic village of Pewsey, Wiltshire are being given an incentive to encourage others to move in and enjoy the good life.

Pewsey was recently ranked fifth in The Sunday Times’ list of the best places to live in the countryside. Redcliffe Homes, who are creating the only new homes in the heart of the village, has launched the reward scheme for local residents who recommend family and friends considering moving in.

The “Recommend A Friend” scheme is for people moving in to Whatley Mews - a collection of 11 new homes earmarked exclusively for the Over 55s.

Those who register with Redcliffe Homes as a referrer will be eligible for a no-strings-attached gift of £1,000 if they make a recommendation which results in a sale – as will the person to whom they made their suggestion.

Whatley Mews is the last phase to be built at Whatley Drive, an otherwise mixed development, located just a few minutes’ walk from Pewsey village centre and railway station along a level and picturesque riverside walk.

Buyers of the Over 55s homes will own their properties outright, and still enjoy the services of a management company to care for the central garden and other communal areas.

Unlike many other similar schemes, homeowners at Whatley Mews will have total independence within their own freehold homes, at the same time benefitting from becoming part of a community of similarly independent homeowners, and the security that offers.

With seven different house types, Redcliffe has designed these homes as the perfect place to downsize and release capital for retirement without compromising on quality of life.

Purchasers can choose from two- or three-bedroom designs, allowing space for visits from the grandchildren or a spare room for a hobby or study.

Designed to be low-maintenance, the houses are also suitable for those who will spend limited amounts of the year in Wiltshire while they enjoy winter sunshine elsewhere on cruises or at a second home.

There are allocated parking spaces and the communal garden can be enjoyed by residents for relaxation, without the worries of having to maintain it.

Each home has been designed with the latest labour-saving and energy efficiency methods in mind, but with the design and looks of traditional English village homes.  Because they are new and energy-efficient, running costs are low compared to older houses and maintenance is easy in these high-spec homes.

Just one of the larger family homes on the development is also still available, and is also eligible for the ‘Recommend A Friend’ scheme.

The Whatley, a substantial five-bedroom design over three floors, located in a secluded position on the development, is on the market for £485,000.  Occupying a prime location, set back from the road with a generous private driveway, it has a detached garage and a good-sized garden.

Lorraine Kendrick, Redcliffe Homes’ marketing and sales manager, said: “Pewsey is ideally located for enjoying the wider Wiltshire countryside with delightful countryside walks directly accessible from the new homes and great footpaths along the neighbouring Marlborough Downs and the Vale of Pewsey itself which will prove irresistible to keen walkers.”

Every new home is covered by Redcliffe Homes’ own two year warranty, as well as the standard 10 year NHBC warranty giving complete peace of mind.
