The first buyers on Redcliffe Homes' new Nup End Green development in Ashleworth have moved into their new house - and say it is so good that they've decided it will be their forever home.
David & Valerie Middleton, who moved into a four-bedroom Bibury home on the development just before Christmas, had been renting a home nearby while they looked for the perfect house to buy somewhere between Gloucester and Bristol. They had lived in Windsor and until they moved away, they had only ever had old houses and were firmly committed to the idea of never having a brand new one. They also expected their next house to be their penultimate purchase.
Now all that has changed. After 18 months of searching every village in their target area, they were alerted to Redcliffe's development at Ashleworth. They quickly requested the brochure, visited the village, attended an open day at the development, picked out a house and signed up. In the meantime, they checked out the build quality of the house type they were buying by visiting another Redcliffe development in Corsham. The liked what they saw. Valerie comments:
"I like the build quality, the quality of the fittings, the excellent customer service - and most importantly, this development was ideal in that it was a small development in a small village, which was exactly what we were looking for.
"The house has four good-sized bedrooms and space for a home office on the ground floor, which was important for me. It has a wonderful family kitchen/diner and the kitchen fittings are great quality. It was important to have large bedrooms as we have grown-up children living with us still."
David & Valerie say that since they have moved in, everything has worked out exactly as they'd hoped. Valerie adds:
"It's a lovely village and people are so friendly. I'd say there's also more going on here than in many cities and towns - so many events as well as a village shop plus the amenities you need, not to mention wonderful fresh, local food such as meat, vegetables and eggs from the farm down the road. It's great for our dogs too because there are so many places to walk. We just can't imagine living anywhere else now. We can't wait until the summer when the cricket starts at the village cricket club so we can sit with a glass of Pimms and watch the match!"
Speaking of the buying process, Valerie concludes:
"The Site Manager in particular has been fabulous but with everyone we've dealt with at Redcliffe, nothing has been too much trouble and we've been made to feel very welcome."
