Bath rugby star converted by Redcliffe's Park Place development

When looking for a new family home, professional rugby player Matt Garvey wasn't convinced about new builds - until he saw Redcliffe Homes' Park Place development in Corsham.

Matt, who plays for Bath, already lived in Corsham with his wife and two young children but they were looking for the next step up the property ladder and ideally their forever home. "We drove around the area, went past Park Place and really liked the look of it, so we went in and had a look around and fell in love with The Ashbury home."

The Ashbury, a beautiful five-bedroom house, is just one of a range of homes on the development. Redcliffe have built an outstanding selection of homes to do justice to their beautiful setting, combining traditional style with contemporary elegance and energy efficiency. The homes are also spacious, with an inbuilt flexibility so they meet buyers' particular needs and requirements, whatever they may be.

The Garveys moved in just a couple of months ago. Reflecting on what made them want to buy their home, Matt says:

"We just loved everything about the house: the aesthetics, the space, the light, the rooms. It looked incredible and once we'd seen it we just didn't want to lose it so we put a deposit down straight away. The light in particular is amazing - we love the size of the windows and the open, airy, spacious feel of the house. We're settling in and adding our personal touches to the place now but there's no rush as the fixtures and fittings are such high quality.

"There is also a great little community on the development itself, as well as in the wider village. This is really important to us as we're living away from our families."

Matt says that the process of buying their new house has been very positive:

"It felt like we were not buying a house from a big company that forgets about its customers, we were buying from a local company that really values its customers and is determined to get it right for them. I can't speak highly enough of the whole experience - it was totally stress-free."

There are a number of homes remaining on the Park Place development of 2,3,4 and 5 bedroom homes. They are in a charming rural setting a stone's throw from the beautiful historic market town of Corsham.

Corsham is a hidden gem, full of character. The market town is rich in history and historical buildings, including Corsham Court, an English country house in a park designed by Capability Brown, notable for its spectacular gardens and fine art collection. The town itself is busy, bustling and a pleasure to stroll around - not only for people but also for the peacocks who sometimes appear on the High Street!

With an arts centre, wonderful independent shops and great places to eat and drink, it's a town that is easy to fall in love with. Looking more practically, the primary and secondary schools are excellent and very highly regarded, while the M4 is just five miles away, as is Chippenham railway station which has a direct connection to London and Reading.  It’s no surprise that it’s been voted by The Times as one of the ‘Best Places to Live in the UK 2019’.
